www.youtube.com/user/dhabeckerFifth Grade Homework: Homework assigned by me will be to practice skills learned in the classroom. For example, scholars in my classroom will only have Reading, Recording Reading, and Math for homework each night. There may be some nights where extra work is sent home due to the following: late assignments, finishing reports on time, missed assignments from absences. To help, please provide a quiet area for your scholar to work in, specific times for them to finish their work, and help them with interpreting the directions.
Homework for Reading:: scholars need to read at least 30 minutes each night. After they read, they need to choose a reading response question to answer about their reading, to build comprehension and organization of their thoughts throughout their reading.
Homework for Math:: worksheet will build conceptual understanding of their math skills learned in the classroom - scholars are encouraged to take home their MATH STAR BINDER to use their tools to solve difficult problems. Answers to the Eureka mathematics homework are provided for parents below. Also, please check out https://www.youtube.com/user/dhabecker -- he teaches the Eureka lessons that align with the math homework so you can have your scholar watch it with you, or refresh your way of thinking about math with these short videos on how-to! :)
